File an Ontario ticket or request a meeting online
Use the official court portals to file your ticket for trial, request an Early Resolution meeting, or check the status of your case without lining up at the courthouse.
Choose the portal that matches where your ticket was issued. Part I tickets can usually be filed online. Part III summons already have a court date and are handled differently.
Choose where your ticket was issued
The filing portal you use depends on whether your ticket is from the City of Toronto or from another municipality in Ontario.
Tickets issued in Toronto
Use the City of Toronto Court Case Look Up portal to request a trial date or ask for an Early Resolution meeting with a prosecutor.
Works for most Part I tickets where the courthouse address is in Toronto. Have your offence notice and offence number handy.
Open Toronto ticket portal ›Tickets issued outside Toronto
Use the Province of Ontario online service to check the status of your ticket, request a meeting to resolve your case, or see payment options.
For tickets from any other Ontario municipality. You will need the location code and offence number from your ticket.
Open Ontario-wide ticket portal ›Know your ticket type
How you respond depends on whether you have a regular ticket (Part I) or a Part III summons.
Offence Notice (most traffic tickets)
A Part I ticket usually has three options on the back: pay the fine, request a trial, or request a meeting with the prosecutor (Early Resolution).
You can normally file your choice online using the portals above, instead of mailing the ticket or lining up at the courthouse.
Summons to Defendant
A Part III is not a regular ticket. It is a summons that already has a court date, time and location printed on the front.
You typically cannot file a Part III summons online. You must attend court on the date shown, or speak to a lawyer or paralegal about changing the date or dealing with the charge.

Not sure if you should just pay the ticket?
Paying a ticket can mean demerit points, higher insurance and a permanent record of the offence. Before you decide, talk to a defence lawyer or paralegal who deals with these cases every day.
